About Katherine Wills
Active First Aid Courses are delivered by Katherine Wills a qualified physical education teacher with 30 years of hands on first aid experience.
She holds the Rescue Emergency Care Instructional Certificate (REC) and has been involved with REC for nearly 10 years. She also freelances as a first aid specialist at public events.
Katherine is an active mountaineer both in summer and winter and is a dedicated and active member of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team (LLMRT) one of the busiest teams in the UK.
She is a keen member of the Rescue Team’s Committee as well as the Chair of the Medical Sub Committee. Her involvement extends to the responsibility for maintaining and progressing the team’s first aid equipment and plays a significant role in the team’s first aid training.
Katherine holds the Mountain Rescue Councils Casualty Care first aid certificate as well as the Emergency Care in Mountain Rescue Advanced certificate.
Using her experience she is able to provide an insight for those interested into the challenges of having to do first aid in more remote situations.
Active First Aid Training believes that First Aid is about 'doing' and so the emphasis of the courses is on the practical element. With no medical jargon and plenty of hands on work, Katherine gives candidates the opportunity to become confident in providing care, and the ability to apply general first aid principles in each and every first aid situation they may find themselves in.
